THE FUTURE
GROUP - SECOND GENERATION
The
work of SKCV should never end. The founders have ensured this by
training and putting in place a group of older and now married young
people who have grown up with SKCV and have shown enthusiasm to be the
future managers.
Over
the years, many hundreds of children have been through
the SKCV CHILD System of strengthening, and are now well
situated in work and career, are married and have their
own children.
There has emerged a group of the older students who, upon personal
reflection, find themselves much happier and enthusiastic to stay with
SKCV as leading managers, carrying on and fortifying the process, thus
helping more and more children in need into the Millennium. This group
was the concept of M.Sudhama and Krishna Prasad. They is 28 years of age and
Married with their own children now.
At
present, there are twelve members of the Future Group.
All of them are Department heads. They are now aged
between 24yrs and 28 yrs of age. They meet each Saturday
at 2.30pm to discuss
matters of management of SKCV and to deal collectively
with day to day problems. They are highly respected by
the younger children. They are able to offer a kind word,
an understanding mood and excellent counselling in times
of need.
Having
been through years of street life themselves, they are
fully aware of the problems and traumas the younger
children are facing. They go out on sorties together
meeting children on the streets.
All but two of the Future Group are already married, and have their
own children. Their wives are also working with SKCV in
staff positions. All the Members live in SKCV Centres and
are on 24 hr call. Each one of the Members of the Second
Generation are trained personally in management by Mr.Manihara and his wife.
They
are taught to manage with equanimity and calm. Decisions
are reached after discussion and vote. They are now
studying various methods of management from around the
world going back to the fifteenth century, but are able
to merge in newer ideas also.
